Our current strategic plan was developed through a thorough, intentional process with input from all areas of the organization. The goals of the agency were constructed by many diverse groups of staff, board, and members of MHALA, tasked with actualizing the values already ingrained in our work. The process began with interviews about the purpose and utility of the plan followed by an agency survey of perceived strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The goals of the plan are backed up with a separate implementation plan, which directly and concretely operationalizes the values in a realistic, achievable manner.
