Our Board of Directors
MHA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. As the community representatives who direct the policy of our organization, the Board is the driving force behind our mission and growth. Our Board's composition is a blend of business and mental health professionals, citizens from the community, people with mental illness and families of people with mental illness. Our 2010 Board members are:

Our Advisory Committees
We are fortunate to have the volunteer involvement of community
leaders and concerned citizens to advance opportunities for people
with mental illness. In Long Beach, the MHA Village Advisory Board
has representatives from the community, service professionals,
people with mental illness and their families. Our Antelope Valley
Advisory Committee is made up of business and civic leaders, nonprofit
colleagues and community citizens.
We have a volunteer advisory board for the Human Services Academy, our collaboration with the Los Angeles Unified School District to guide students toward careers in mental health and other human services. Our human services colleagues, college educators, high school administrators, and city and county representatives give us input on curriculum, mentoring, work experience and funding.
