MHALA Recognized for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

MHALA chief service officers Luis Montes and Luther Richert hold MHALA's DEI certificate.

MHALA is honored to have been chosen as a finalist again this year at the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Symposium & Awards! This honor celebrates MHALA’s efforts to create an inclusive and equitable workplace at all levels, which is fundamental to fostering well-being for all.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion are embedded in everything we do at MHALA. We’ve worked diligently to bridge service gaps for underserved populations, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, Veterans, and transition-age youth.

We are proud that 70% of our leadership team and 50% of our board of directors identify as BIPOC. In addition, 80% of MHALA staff are BIPOC, and more than 25% of our staff have personal or family experience of poverty, homelessness, and mental or physical health challenges. MHALA is committed to ensuring representative leadership and decision-making at all levels of the organization.
