I Feel Like a Whole Different Person
"I set boundaries. I don’t accept a lot of the things I used to accept. I’m able to really be an adult."
Life after foster care brought uncertainty for Staciion Kelley. Without the security of housing or a strong support system, she was left to figure out adulthood on her own.
With the support of MHALA – and Staciion’s determination and persistence – she ultimately found so much more than just a place to live. She found stability, purpose, and a team she could trust through our Transition-Age Youth (TAY) Program. With that foundation, she’s now building a life she once thought impossible: comfortably housed, sober for more than three years, and working a job she loves at Casters Coffee in Lancaster.
“I feel like a whole different person," Staciion shared. "I talk to people different. I set boundaries. I don’t accept a lot of the things I used to accept. I’m able to really be an adult."
Staciion now speaks about her future with hope instead of fear. After years of surviving instability, she is finally living a life defined by choice, healing, and dignity, excited about what's ahead.
