Planned Giving

You can help secure your legacy by making estate plan provisions to share a lasting, meaningful gift to individuals with mental health needs.

The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. Others include annuities, charitable lead trusts, endowment funds, life insurance policies, retirement plan assets, real estate, and stocks and bonds. Your financial advisor can help you decide which type of planned gift is best for you.

MEMORIALS & HONORARIUMS

Remember someone dear to you, honor or thank a loved one, or celebrate a special occasion by making a gift in their honor or memory to MHALA. The person(s) and/or family will be notified of your generous gift (without disclosing the amount of the contribution).

STOCK GIFTS

Stock gifts can provide you with significant tax advantages! You may choose to give a gift of stock in one of two ways:

  1. Stock certificates can be mailed directly to MHALA. Contact development@mhala.org for a copy of the forms.
  2. A broker can transfer stock directly to MHALA's broker, Natalie Perez at Gamble Jones Investment Counsel (626-795-7583). The DTC number is 0164, code 40. Account # at Charles Schwab: 6231-5620.

Please let us know if you are making a gift of stock as standard stock transfers often do not include donor information. 

Vehicle Donations

You can make a difference by donating your vehicle – whether it’s a car, truck, van, or RV. MHALA participates in a vehicle donation program that picks up your car for free and completes the sale of your donated vehicle.
